Our Team - Mark Pedley

Mark Pedley's early career path took him from Ford dealer apprentice mechanic, through to managing one of the UK's largest Ford Dealer's fleet departments. Mark quickly identified, won and managed many prestigious sole Ford supply large accounts such as RSPCA in Horsham, Redland Brick plc, General Accident in Perth, Wolverhampton based Tarmac and one of the industries most respected leasing companies Appleyard Vehicle Contracts whom Mark joined in 1994. Whilst there he successfully won and managed five of Appleyard’s top ten key accounts such as; The Caudwell Group, My Travel plc, Vodaphone and Office International. In 2006 Mark was Appleyard’s project manager who won and implemented one of the first UK’s online Public Sector Salary Sacrifice products into a number of NHS Trusts Mark held senior management roles within Appleyard and was central in creating and leading the New Business and Major Accounts teams. Mark was appointed Head of Public Sector Operations with ING Car Lease UK in 2007, where he managed over 700 UK Public Sector Organisations with over 15,000 vehicles. Mark also relationship managed at senior level ING Car Lease’s two largest accounts namely the OGC’s ‘Buying Solutions’ (formally NHS PASA) the UK’s largest fleet with over 42,000 vehicles also the Central Buying Consortium 4,000 vehicles. Managing ING Public Sector customers through the very demanding operational integration period following ING's takeover from Appleyard, Mark also led the team that won a number of major supply-chain management Public Sector Tenders, including; Buying Solutions- Cars (2007) Commercial Vehicles (2009), CBC (2007) and a number of County and District Councils. In 2008/9, as a top UK public sector supplier, Mark worked closely with the Office of Government Commerce (OGC) in London at the Treasury on a number of successful Public Sector Grey Fleet initiatives. Mark has unique experience and knowledge gained from working in every aspect of car fleet operation. He has close links with manufacturers, top twenty leasing companies and Public Sector procurement teams. Away from work Mark is married to his wife Jill and has two grown up children Katie (19) and Jack (17). Mark a keen sportsman has FA Football and ECB Cricket coaching qualifications. Although in the twilight of his long cricket career Mark still appears in covers for his local cricket club on Sunday's! He also plays golf with a handicap of 15 at his local club's Hawkstone Park and Wolstanton. When he gets the time......Mark's other vice is stand-up comedy writing, performing, hosting comedy events and sportsman evenings where he has appeared at a number of UK comedy venues including the Edinburgh Festival, however Peter Kay and Bruce Forsyth really have nothing to worry about just yet!
